All care providers and staff of Los Osos Early Care and Education Center share a commitment to quality care and education for each child. Their dedication to the philosophy and mission can be observed in the daily activities and projects for each child. The lead care providers of each room have a bachelor’s degree in child development or related field(s) and has at least two years childcare experience. Care providers have at least an associate’s degree in a child development related field and childcare experience. All support staff have child development related course work and/or work experience. In keeping with California State Community Care Licensing procedures, each member of Los Osos Early Care and Education Center and its volunteers are finger printed through the California Department of Justice before employment. The number of care providers/teachers per child depends on the child’s age. There will be no more than 4 children per care provider for infants 6 weeks to 12 months. There is one care provider for each group of 5 toddlers through 3 years of age. Young children, 3 years through 5 years, will have one care provider for each 7 children.
